* Special Announcement *

This Thursday we will be departing from our regular CERT Radio
Communications Classes to provide preparation for the upcoming May 9 License
Examination. Only three weeks remain before May 9, and in that time we
invite those who are interested in obtaining an amateur radio license to
obtain one or more of the following study materials and prepare for the
test. In addition, Hamilton Wireless will expand the License Class with
orientation classes on remaining Thursdays to assist in preparation. The
Saturday morning study session (9:00am - 12:45pm) is still considered an
essential part of preparing for the examination, and our four-part
Communication Classes are essential training to assist you with using your
radio.

The cost of the License Class is $25 which includes the orientation classes
and the $15 fee charged by the ARRL for the license examination. Study
materials may be purchased on-line or in local booksellers.

You may consider obtaining one or all of the following documents. The free
No-Nonsense guide is a good beginning for the orientation classes and is
readily available. The Plain-English Study Guide is more extensive and is
written as an intuitive introduction to radio technology. The ARRL Ham
Radio License Manual is written as a reference manual with detailed
explanations and includes a practice test-question CD.
