Bill,
Thank you for our conversation on the air last night.
luke>Is there a corresponding list of frequencies for marinteams that I should be referring to? I didn't see anything on….
Perhaps this is the table I should be looking at?
http://www.certradio.org/Frequencies.htm
CERT LOCAL (SIMPLEX) San Rafael C1: 145.280 C2: 145.360 C3: 145.640
CERT REPEATERS Hamilton Wireless Assn. C5 146.775 (-) PL: 127.3
Mill Valley Repeater C4 146.775 (-) PL: 110.9
Western Repeater C6 146.775 (-) PL :151.4
The SM Cert plan also has a table of "Channels"
http://www.smfd.org/attachments/article/53/SM%20CERT%20Communications%20Plan%202013.pdf
page 6.
However, FRS/GMRS channels are referred to only by number. The channel number is specific and unambiguous for FRS, but not GMRS:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GMRS (see "Motorola Convention" vs "ICOM convention"
It may seem like a niggling detail, however when we are in an "Any means necessary" emergency, the Baofeng UV5R radios (<$50) can both send and receive on the 2m/70CM ham bands, FRS, GMRS, AND the Kenwood high-band frequencies. Might be handy to have all this pre-programmed and in only one radio.
