This message was sent to Carolyn Lenert (thank you, Carolyn). If you'd like
to upgrade your Technician license to General Class, this is one way to pass
the test in one day. While not necessary for DART communications, the
General class license gives you the ability to transmit using voice on
short-wave (2-30 MHz) frequencies. By the way, your Technician license now
permits you to communicate using CW on shortwave frequencies.
It may also be possible to obtain your Technician license at the Sunday
session if you do not presently have an Amateur Radio license. Call Mike
Larner for more information.

Subject: HAM operators course info
To all Southern Marin CERTs and others interested in
emergency preparedness: Anyone wanting to get their ham licence can
take a cram course followed by the test on the 24th at the Presidio.
No prior studying is necessary. Almost everyone passes.
The general class test will become much more difficult in July so
this is the last chance to take the easier test.
For info on time and place call Mike Larner at 415 381 5126.
