Well, the idea is to come up with a configuration we are all happy with,
then see what we can do to implement. :^) Perhaps the easiest and
quickest solution would be to acquire four fresh batteries and hook them up
to the existing inverter. The inverter has a built-in battery charger, but
haven't any idea of what quality. The inverter is a 400 watt (I think)
device made by APC as a computer UPS. It was designed to operate from
internal (to its case) batteries, but seems to work well with larger
external batteries.
Nick, I asked Ken to come up with a specific proposal so that we could then
see what we could do to put something in place. Do you have any specific
recommendations with respect to equipment, or would you like to work with
Ken to come up with something?
