[MAMS] band conditions

Good morning,

I can’t remember your name — sorry. I would look for something simple like an open or shorted cable on the 10 Mhz input, either the cable or the connector on the transverter, or the small coax inside the transverter.

I am fighting 10 Mhz distribution problems here. I have a Z3801 GPS standard that has worked well for years, diving it with a surplus 8:1 passive divider. I sync up five things, 3 generators, counter and my 222 trnsverter with ApoloVHF. The transverter got “fuzzy” recently, lots of sidebands. It won’t do it unless I run it through the divider. So today I am taking the system all apart to test each piece. I’ll find it. It gives me something to keep me off the street and out of the bars :-)

73,

Dave, K4TO

Or in my case, trying to fix my apolLO I unit that I use at 1152 MHz with multipliers as weak signal generators for testing. Won't lock the PLL all of a sudden. It's not the PLL chip...already replaced that last night and no go, so...back to the troubleshooting bench. Good thing I have a second unit though. :)

There are n o patches of enhancement shown anywhere in the Eastern USA except for the very bottom of the Texas and Florida southern parts. It doesn’t start improving until next week, Wednesday.
