[MAMS] Good condx this AM (July MAD)

Zack,

I'm glad to hear of your success. I tried to run with K8MD and W9ZIH.
No luck with either. I did hear bits and pieces of W9ZIH on 1296. I
thought for sure I would work Ron, but I guess it wasn't to be.

I finished the morning in the shop. I managed to figure out a weird
problem with my 1296 mast mounted preamp, which has been bugging me for
a long time. It seems that one mounting screw on one relay was a bit
too long and interfered with the armature, causing the NC contact to
remain open when it should have closed. Oh well .... that cost me a
couple of ATF 36101s.

I now have my Softrock Ensemble II and DEMI 144-INT working well and the
spectrum view and demodulating power of the computer software is
impressive for such a simple setup. It isn't quite as good as my K2 and
DEMI 144 board, but close.

All in all, it was a fun morning.

73,

Dave
