I believe I have everything I need to make my 47 GHz system now. I made
duplicates of the DB6NT boards and I'm basically trying to put it together
without having or making a milled out case. I took the first steps in
building it yesterday. I cut some aluminum pieces 0.25 inch thick X 1.25
inch wide X 3.5 inches long. Next step is to make some square holes in the
aluminum pieces to hold the WR-34 waveguide pieces that act as a high-pass
filter for the 22 GHz LO. Pyrojoe KI4NPV pointed out to me that the 3/16 X
3/8 inch rectangular hobby brass most of the hardware stores carry around
here is an acceptable waveguide replacement for WR-34, having almost the
same inside dimensions.

Once I get it built I just have to figure out how to tune it up. I'm hoping
that by making two systems I can use one to tune up the other. Plus I'll
either have a loaner station or can use two separate transverters to be
used with two separate dishes, one for transmit and one for receive. Don't
know which way I'm going to go on that yet ...
