I use "thimble eyes", rated for long-term use (decades) and 32,000#
pull. Mine are 6' long, and 3/4" thick, and about 4' down at an angle,
the hole filled with large rock, and a slurry of rock/dirt/gravel (yard
scrapings) poured in to help bind the material in the hole as I filled it.

You'll see them holding utility poles up. Here is an example:

I use a single eye, and a spreader for multiple guys on a ~30' mast.

Electrical supply houses should have them, or get them. I bought mine
in 2013, they didn't cost much, maybe $20 each at the time from WedCo.

For a plate on the bottom, where the nut is, I used a ~3/8" thick
galvanized 8x8 or 10x10 plate I picked up from a fence shop, and drilled
a hole through it.

Factory plates for the bottom are conical, and folded up, designed to be
spread out by a thimble eye installing machine. Here's an example of an
anchor. I suppose I could have used these without expanding them, due
to all the rock I put in the hole:

You'll also see the screw type anchors on the above page, if you dig a
hole, then fill with rock/gravel/dirt/water, they could work as well.
You need to ensure the soil is solid if they are just placed into a
hole, rather than screwed in.
