I have two SDR receivers now which appear to be excellent in the LF and VLF
range. I've been using a FUNCube dongle for a few years. I recently got an
Airspy Discovery HF+ SDR receiver. It seems to be a little better than the
FUNCube. But both seem to work great. The Airspy unit goes down to 500 Hz!
I can copy WWVB with it just fine.
My best antenna seems to be the AMRAD E-Probe. It's up about 15 feet. I
also have a 1 meter diameter loop that works OK, but the e-probe is better.
The loop is rotatable and so can null out signals if I need to.
