[Lowfer] What's your experience using a LoG antenna on LF

Andy,

I have used one here. It was a 60Ft long wire layed on the ground in
roughly a circle. I don't think shape matters. I tried a couple
transformer's, and found more winding's on the loop side improved the LF
performance. It received up to 30m or so.

I thought it worked well, and felt very safe from lightning. Signal
levels are a lot lower than a typical antenna, but so isn't the noise. I
watched one video where the person was not happy that signals were not
better than his above ground antenna. SNR is much lower on the LOG so
you can hear as well or better than a traditional ant.

My drawback was the wire laying on the ground kept getting chewed up by
the small critters. As this was a test setup I didn't do anything to
resolve that issue. I followed that test with a LNV which provides
similar low noise, and a little stronger signal. The critters leave it
alone too. That's my keeper but the LOG is a close second.

Good Luck
