[Lowfer] LF ham bands

Hello Paul,

the heavy QSB drops were the reason why WSPR15 never caught on on MF,. the
slow JT modes also had their problems.
But I have observed on FST4W/300 that even if 2 minutes of the 5 minute
transmission are missing, the decoding is still perfect. If you extrapolate
that to /1800then it should work on MF as well... theoretically ;o)
In 2 weeks my MF antenna will be on the air, then I will test it with joy.

I'm not certain about 630 meters. I'm not currently active there so I just
know what I see being announced on the various forums. I know there has been
some FST4W-300 but am not sure if anyone is currently doing it.
A week or so ago I saw at least one European say he would try FST4W-1800 but
I'm not sure how that test went.

I think many people feel the QSB cycle is too fast for the very long periods
on 630 meters. That may be. I recall it was faster than on 2200 meters. 1800
seconds is working out very well on the lower band.

Paul
