[Lowfer] Icom R75 discontinued

I happened to browse the Universal Radio site just now an noticed that the
venerable Icom R75 receiver has been listed as discontinued. This is no
surprise as accessories for the R75, such as the optional crystal filters,
have been listed as discontinued for months now. Kinda sad to see it
discontinued, as it is a very good LF receiver, when properly outfitted
with filters and especially when used with a good, stable LF converter. I
hope to keep using mine for years to come.


On the other hand, I noticed a new SDR listed on the same page, the RFspace
"Cloud IQ", which claims to be a direct sampling receiver with a 9 kHz to
55 MHz frequency range, and a built in TCXO. Looks like it can also be used
remotely via Ethernet. Price: $629. Will be interested to find out more
about this one.
