: Lowfer is a mailing list (reflector) devoted to the discussion of
: Lowfer, the 1750m band (160-190khz), the European Lowfer bands and the
: United Kingdom's new 73khz band, as well as MedFer Activities in the
: 1600-1700 khz band.

That's slightly different than what was discussed on the forum and agreed to
by the members and group owner and how it's operated for several years. I'm
sure the description was of relative unimportance and simply overlooked. It
was agreed that due to the relative low volume of traffic of the few perhaps
off-topic reports, it would be easier for people to make their own decisions
about it and choose to respond, or not, use their delete keys, or not.

Although this is a LowFER group, I am not a LowFER operator and have only
monitored a few LowFER transmissions. My interest in joining LWCA in the
early 90's (membership since expired) and the forum later ('96?, '98? I
think it's changed hosts a couple times since then) was in the voice
communications which haven't happened as far as I recall since the 60's with
a few rare experiments into the mid-90's. One day I WILL be a LowFER and
what I read here increases my over-all knowledge base, so I'm still here.

It was decided long before I put my HiFER beacon on the air, January 10th
2004 @1700hrs, RPG 13,555.430 KHz, that HiFER reports were acceptable in
this forum since many LowFER, MedFER, HiFER and the rare V-FER were the same
operators, so you will see a few rare posts outside the LowFER concept.

Per your comment about people getting bent out of shape on other forums,
well, that's the norm, unfortunately... Someone will always have an issue
with something. Around here we're pretty easy going.
