Good afternoon all,
Referencing the comments and the reply period: its just my opinion,
although it appears to be shared by a few that I have discussed the matter
with, that since the UTC comment is the only opponent comment submitted and
was surprisingly weak in substance and content and possibly even
erroneously prepared (it seems that they *might* have 2200m and 630m
switched in their discussion), its probably best to not make comments on
their submission. To do so might give merit to a discussion that does not
have one. It also seems best served that the ARRL be the one to point
these issues out, if at all. It should be glaring to the FCC.
It probably doesn't need to be said, but I will anyway, that any reply
comments that reference comments of other "team members" really should be
kept positive, even if you disagree with them. Its probably a bad idea to
attack another comment that supports the implementation of MF and LF
bands. If you have another idea about something contained within someone
else's initial comment, it seems best to present the idea as an alternative
approach with a similar outcome - keep it positive - because the enemy
will use that division against us, particularly if submitted before the
deadline where they can see them before the filing deadline. That includes
reply comments to the ARRL's submission. They really are on our team and
showed it with a very comprehensive and thorough comment that exceeded what
many of us expected.
Its really awesome how there was so much participation in this process and
how it almost looked like it was planned to work out as well as it did.
Great comments on an anecdotal, technical and legal scale.. Set 'em up and
knock 'em down...
73!
