Well, not long after I wrote that, BDQ showed up briefly, so that was kind

As for 1750 meters, I returned to the watering hole for the last two hours 
before sunrise, but no luck there at all.

Just before noon today I perched at the watering hole with a second Argo 
capture "tuned" to 185.185, expecting to see the transition to CW on .2997 
at 1800 UTC.  It actually took place at 1900, but both signals came in well 
with a very quiet QRN background.
