These old documents are great!

That document mentioned portable sites using a short VLF antenna design
called PARAN (Perimeter Current Antenna).  First time I heard of that
antenna design.  I found some interesting documents about those online -
has anyone had any experience with them?  Not exactly a simple antenna
since some designs need 5 to 7 100' towers, but supposedly an alternative
to a single 1000' tower giving similar radiation resistance.
