Mike: OK thanks for the insight on your end. Sunrise enhancement was
favorable for WM this AM

and fairly consistent but light signal present through 1400UTC. A roaming
noise signal starts up around 1352 UTC on top of WM.

So the new Type 75 binocular transformers appear to be working OK. HP3865c
measured about .03dB insertion loss per transformer on the bench at
185.300kHz after backing out the jumper cable loss, although I'm not sure
what confidence level to apply to that number....
Weather and other atmospheric noise sources as well as uncontrollable local
noise all play a part on what can be heard on a given day. I'll run these
antenna transformers for a year and see what happens long term....
