[Lowfer] WSPR-X

Mike et al,

I think WSPR-X15 works fine here on all my XP 32 bit and Win7 64 bit
PCs. However, that's hardly reassurance that it should and will work
elsewhere. That seems to be the lot for Windows users - things are
preposterously unrepeatable. Never had such problems with Linux but have
never tried Apple. I did learn it was best to install on my C: drive
directly rather than in a WSPR subfolder when using Win7. I gave up on
uploads - I do them manually as I see fit.

I have noticed big delays submitting those uploads, updating the spot
page, and updating the map. I see a note From Merv, WH2XCR similarly
complaining about server overload. Some of that likely comes from users
who fail to regularly clear their ALL_WSPR.TXT files. I do that daily,
first saving the current contents to a dated folder (not absolutely
necessary since pretty far back, but not necessarily infinitely far
back, you can regenerate your data on the spot page if you submit it),
and then deleting the file. The WSPR software will make another next
time you run it if needed. The location depends on how you installed the
program and what OS version you're using. If necessary, it shouldn't be
hard to locate by searching your hard drive.
