[Lowfer] Speaking of Loops for 1750 meters ;

Hi Andy,

     I've played with verticals and loops here for transmitting on the low
frequencies and the loop is definitely more forgiving in terms of tuning.
However, I do find that I need to slightly adjust the capacitance to
resonate the loop between summer and winter, I'm not sure if this is due to
the temperature coefficient of the capacitors or changing ground (&
environmental)  resistance.
   If the loop is in contact with foliage, it will have an effect on
impedance, I found that it seems to increase the loop's effective
resistance. For this reason when I move a loop or had trees cut down, I need
more turns on the 50 ohm (primary) side of the transformer.

If I wanted to run unattended operation for a prolonged period of time
without worrying about retuning, I'd definitely go for the loop.

73 Warren
