[Lowfer] XP question

JB, glad to hear your problem was relieved by rebooting, but it will
probably return. Some things to consider when it does:

In Windows it is generally not a good idea to simply delete or rename a
file that's acting up. If you don't turn off Windows' attempt to start
the file, it will slow down the bootup process and may very well kick
up an error message of its own at each startup.

The better approach is to remove it from the list of things that try to
start. It can be done with registry entries, but that's a tedious and
risky process. It can be done with third-party tools, but who wants
something running on his computer (ie, Spybot) that's named for one of
the very things you DON'T want running on your computer?

I'd start by going to the Start button and click Run... and type in
msconfig to start XP's own tool for that very purpose. Look under both
the Services and Startup tab for anything with a similar looking
name...it probably won't be the full file name...and uncheck it.
Reboot to make the change take effect, and when Windows restarts and
prompts you to let msconfig run at startup and undo the change--don't
let it.

BTW, I'm sending this to you directly as well as to the list, because
for some reason, neither of my accounts now seems to be able to send
mail through the reflector as of yesterday.
