Got a late start due to some kind of unexpected digestive upset. A little
after 3 PM CST I could see Mitch quite well and Pat slightly (about 15 dB
down re: MP), but it was clear MP was already going into a pre-sunset fade.
XLP followed several minutes thereafter. MP returned in less than the
length of a single ID but it took XLP quite a while longer.

By 4:15, XLP was gaining strength quickly. Although still 13 or 14 dB below
MP, it's showing on both QRSS30 and 60 screens...a little broken up at 30
seconds, but seemingly pretty solid at 60. A couple of signals were
beginning to show up in the 1.5 Hz or so below Mitch. At least one of those
seems to be genuinely keyed and steady in frequency, but the other may be
something random and was definitely drifting a bit. I'll have to go back in
a little bit and check on them.

Very, very windy here today, but during the daylight there was almost no
QRN. Signals and noise averaged just under S1, with static to S1. By 4:30,
crashes were slowly beginning to build. A few reached S3. Thunderstorms in
Mexico and south Texas could pose a problem here for TA tonight...plus the
auroral oval is pretty intense right now in a fast solar wind. Around o100
or 0200, though, after I see who all turns up near 137.78 this evening, I
may switch to 137.162.
