Hi Stan!
Thank you for your interesting comments which call for serious reflexion.
I consider myself a hobbyist. A licensed ham for 54 years who began
playing with SDR with a Flex -1000 EIGHT years ago. LATER, with a Flex
-5000A, an SDR-IQ receiver 2 years ago (all excellent SDR radios, the
later a DDC receiver), using all the versions of PowerSDR as it
developed, HDSDR, HDR-Radio, SpectraView, etc. (all excellent softwares,
in constant development) , and now in my second year of experimenting in
the 600/630M band TXing and RXing nightly, pursuant to my Experimental
FCC Grant. I have tried to stay away from exotic hardware, which perhaps
would not have proper customer support, and proper software and software
support.
The question was posted to obtain information on results of field use of
these radios by actual experimenters so that I can improve the results
of mine using the radios that I already own.
Indeed, the radios you mention are excellent and technically advanced
SDR radios which I am sure will be able to meet your requirements.
Sincerely and 73
