Eric, Jay, Gary, Dex, John and others - thanks for the overnights - and pleased to get reports on this mountain crossing, glacier skirting, and only land path :)
Ive got to tell you that at this power level and given past experiences the other way I was more confident of being seen in the Southern states, but it gets progressively more (very) difficult as you skirt up the East coast and very pleased to be seen in NC etc. It's a long way and we need stable conditions - We did have slight "Blue" arcing Aurora here last night so Im sure a Transpolar path would have been out.
Im continuing to run the system thru the day and at local dawn sitting here in my office in Anchorage 35 miles from XPQ with a portable radio (Tecsun PL-600) listening to the CW ID and QRSS tone with a 10-15dB of fade -. Im obviously illuminating the ionosphere pretty well above -
