[Lowfer] RSGB LF Reflectors

If I recall correctly, people suggested Yahoo because they were having difficulty in subscribing to the majordomo system and in unsubscribing. This problem was made worse because it seemed impossible to get hold of the manager/moderator. Nobody seemed to know he was, and messages to him seemed to require a roundabout route.
I was not really interested in pro- and anti-Yahoo factions. Their discussions, on both reflectors, seemed to me simply to raise the noise level and reminded me of the Algol 60 versus Fortran arguments of my early years in computing.
After using both systems for a while (and getting fed up with adding filters to cut out the noise) I decided the one with a greater noise level.

Don't hold your breath ... there's a lot of dislike for Yahoo as well as resentment for the
attempted 'hijacking' and 'forced' shutdown of blacksheep by a few Yahoo zealots.
As with other e mail lists I can delete the 'noise' in mere msec without ever looking at the post
... based on the subject line and/or poster's name. Too much data ... too little time.
