That's quite a description of the smeared signal!

Update 0030Z:   8 inches ... which makes it about a 1"/hr storm ... although it appears to be 
picking up some. Shut XNS down a while ago when the wind really picked up. Stefan doing pretty well 
in DFCW on 136.172 tonight despite QRN and bouts with screeching snow static.
