My best DX so far is this season. Now that I am really sending QRSS60 and
and have the antenna tuned to dead nutts, I am getting feed back early. I
have a very clean copy into N. Utah by Neil. Mark in NUT copied me Dec 7th.
In 2011 I think you were chasing partials but I was sending QRSS30. Andy
in TEN had some really good partials in 2012 but again I did not know my
WIN keyer had firmware that was sending QRSS30 instead of QRSS60. I think
I have a good chance to make it East this season. On a fun tech note I have
a 100pf air variable cap hanging in the breeze aligator clipped to the coil
Tap connected to the verticle. If I touch the side of the cap in the breeze
I can draw an arch. That cap slides the tuning to almost exactly 187 khz.
Fun stuff. Thanks for looking and good luck.
