Does anyone have any good information on the actual signals coming out 
of the smart meters that utilities [SCE in my case] are now using to 
monitor electricity consumption?  A friend of mine has suddenly started 
getting very strong interference which appears as four very short pulses 
per cycle synchronized to the local power line phase and he wonders if 
this is related to the recent installation of a 'smart meter'.  He is 
trying to monitor signals from a couple of small loops in his back yard 
but just started this experiment and found the noise which hasn't been 
present in past years.
