Doug, you should review the many opds postings on this site, beginning 
with Jay's announcement on Oct 13. Deep-search opera is an improved 
decoder developed by Markus, DF6NM. It processes detailed FFT files 
saved by Spectrum Laboratory to achieve the sensitivity boost. The zip 
file downloadable from 
http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/26404526/opds.htm focuses on rate 32, 
but also includes comments on rate 8. Markus also has information on how 
to make it work at rate 64 (called rate 65 in opera 1.4.9). The software 
is very much "beta" and requires file editing to get it to run on your 
particular setup.
