[Lowfer] Hans Summer "Ultimate QRSS" kit?

Hi Warren ,

I have two of them built here and also have the 1pps GPS which is an
Adafruit GPS running with my Wenzel 10 MHz. OCXO . The filter kits are
on their way now for 2200 and 630 meters. Hans just returned from
vacation and began mailing those items this week . He had previously not
had those kitted yet . Neat to be able to change band filters .I also
have I think it is ver 2.03X chips here also . Some people are running
WSPR & QRSS both with this experimental version .I haven't tried that yet .

Too many projects showed up all at once and I am trying to get them
ready for winter and to get with you to work on a license application to
be able to use all of the equipment that I have .

I also received my Chinese X1M Silver / Platinum transceiver on Thursday
of last week . It is a 4-5 watt QRP USB/LSB/CW transceiver that covers
100 kHz. through 30 MHz. It has the same heat issue with the 9850 which
is common . I haven't had time to run it through the bench thoroughly
and look at it with the spectrum analyzer and frequency references .

It comes from the factory with filters in it for 80-40-20-15-10 . But
push a button on the menu and it will transmit anywhere in the 100 kHz.
to 30 MHz. range . Probably pretty dirty signal , but I plan on building
a box for filters for other frequencies . Most functions can be
controlled with HRD , using the Icom codes . Has a built in keyer and
nice display .It is VERY small just barely larger than a regular post
card and 1 1/2 inches tall . They were $300 shipped when I bought mine
from a USA dealer .

Your timing is good as I look at 4K meters . I found a Fluke 5205A today
that the price is really too good to pass up. Has anyone had any
experience with using one of these ? Coming from a source that I know it
will be 100% up to specs .

I am apparently not subscribed to some list and I don't know which one
it is , but I think it is an international one , because I am only
seeing the 4K posts when they get over on the Lowfer list . Any help on
which one I am missing ? Also can someone describe the antennas that
they are using . I only have 30 acres for antennas .

Thanks in advance.

There are a load of notes on DDS stability and how it can be improved -which can be an issue as the daughterboard is running at 125MHz and is kind of temp concious) but mine is fine at 10/14MHz with a pennysitting atop the Xtal ref osc can. You have to get used to pressing 2 buttons in the right sequence for programming and Im still learning :-) but after a while scrolling thru the set up get easier.
