Yes, Mitch. This helps. It gives me reason to do some more work.
My loop is an 8 footer and like I said before, is ground mounted. I have
thought about making a 12 footer and maybe raising it 5-10 feet. I used
some old 9913 which has held up fairly well. It's supported by a 10
foot piece of 2" PVC with a wooden cross piece near the top. The loop
is egg shaped. I do not have a rotor on it. I just go out and move it
to where I want it. It does hold it's own but I imagine I can pick up a
few more db by making it bigger and getting it off the ground a bit.
Now that I think of it, I have a Ham M sitting down cellar.
I'm surprised that I don't hear of more of these loops being used.
