Just to point out a quirk about the Icom R75's noise blanker - just in
case someone else in this part of the world has this problem. Up here at
the camp in Maine, there is a steady LF buzz coming from the lovely
single-phase power service. The R75's noise blanker does a very nice job
with it, but this year I have hardly been able to copy anything in the
137 kHz band. It turns out that the issue is CFH on 137.0 kHz, which has
lately been running full-time with few breaks. While it isn't in the CW
passband while I'm listening at the top or bottom ends of the band, the
noise blanker passband is much wider, and CFH really fouls things up.
During their rare off periods, reception returns to normal.
Interesting, but a pain in the neck!
