[Lowfer] Saturday HiFERs

I guess with the current sunspot counts and solar flux levels, 22m is
becoming more of an early evening band than a daytime band.

None the less, I finally saw SIW clearly in the middle of this afternoon for
the first time in many weeks. MP, NC, and USC were also visible and quite
strong at times, but also faded to oblivion quite a lot, too. EH was
recognizable in its new format (FSK Morse at QRSS3 speed, no longer
inverted), but fading was deep and rapid there as well. There were hints of
RY, but only bits and pieces.

Tonight it was as if someone cranked up the propagation knob, right at
sunset. As the "super moon" rose over the wheat field, first a deep peach
color and later a light gold nearly matching that of the ripening wheat, EH
absolutely boomed in...audibly, that is, and with dogbones visually. MP was
solid, RY was good for entire ID cycles at a time, and USC was mostly good
with only a few fades--mainly on the letter S for some reason.

None of the "plain" Morse beacons were audible for me today, even after
False Prophet Radio--er, I mean, a certain splattery SWBC who shall go
nameless--left the air.

John
