Thanks all for the comments on the noise heard here... For sure, a first for me... Thanks Pat ( /6 ) for the
details on the " charged, windblown, snowflakes " the storm has pretty much passed thru the area now,
a few wind gusts still around... The noise has abated quite a bit.. Static levels are now peaking between
S-5 to S-7, and resting on S-3 in a 500 Hz BW, so slowly getting back to normal.. I am still hearing the
" howlers " occasionally, but not the ghostly sounding stuff from earlier this evening... Mike - WE0H
mentioned it might be the local coyotes... hi - hi, I guess they were looking for a place to get warm..
Just a quick station reception report:
XSH/6 - strong as always, in QRSS-3 mode & CW ID
XSH/31 - MOPA-ing along in CW
XSH/7 - booming in as always - slow CW message, PSK31 message - fast CW ID
XSH/15 - rising above the band noise occasionally to be audible in WSPR mode
Just beginning to see traces from Mike - XSH/12 but no decodes yet... it will though.. going to
let WSPR run overnight..
ready to call it a night for now, 73 to all:
