I don't recall ever hearing noise such as I am tonite... The cold front is moving thru this area
now, and the wind is gusting 25 to 30 mph.. That's about normal for wind gusts in TN. here
near the mountains.. The snow is blowing, and what " was " wet, is frozen now.. I have been
listening to 600 meters all evening, and when the front began coming in; I noticed the noise
level picking up quite rapidly on the radio, and then I started hearing " howling " noises..
I started looking for something in the house that went bad, but it's coming in thru the antenna..
I have heard of " snow static " but can't say that I have actually heard it, and if I have; I didn't
know what it was, and didn't pay any attention to it.. The static is at summertime levels..
The S-meter rests at S-4, and is peaking to S-9, and sometimes +5 dB over in a 500 Hz BW,
and in a 2.4 KHz BW the static is +20 dB over... There is NO quiet frequency, the noise is
everywhere in the band... The thing that has me curious is the howling noises.. I have never
heard this before now...With all the high winds; I might be picking up numerous powerlines
being whipped around in the wind, it sure is strange !!

If you have a minute and a half with nothing better to do; here is the link to the recorded audio..
It might possibly play within the email.. It does in mine anyway..
