Hi John Good Call! I was being a bit pessimistic after Scott's comment about
things being down for a fortnight. I knw there were some other events on the
way. The ring current has recovered quite quickly despite coronal hole event
yesterday. I think we have often in the past seen a "good" night during th
recovery phase. When you get very long paths the attenuation isnt the only
factor to sonsider there are also the multipath effects which can enhance
one lucky station of one path.  It is good to see that the Dst index is
proving to be worthwhile following.....mind you Laurence has to worry about
those pesky protons as well :-))

It would seem that it takes quitee a lot of activity to really fill up the
ring current to levels were were seeing around the last max. when conditions
could be depressed for three weeks. I dont think I have seen it dip to
below -100nT for a long time now.

Keep rattling the ether :-))
