As of 11 AM CDT today, NC is back, although the discovery was largely
accidental. My radio had been in the car overnight during our freezing
temperatures and took a long time to warm up. Until it did, the received
frequency was significantly higher than the displayed frequency, and NC was
uncovered in my higher-tuned Argo window. When everything stabilized, it
turns out NC is now alternating between 13,555,577 and 13,555,581 Hz. Must
be making a seasonal migration north in frequency. :)

Also returning were SIW and MP in the HF watering hole. I could hear both
of those carriers most of the time, and occasionally NC. SIW was frequently
strong enough to copy some of the conventional CW characters, but that
didn't last for more than a few seconds at a time. RY is still missing
today, as it was yesterday. USC on 13,554 kHz was pretty clear despite some
QRM lines wandering through the band.

And (ho-hum) MP was once again nice and clear at noon on 137.7805. Gotta
write Alberto one of these days and ask him to check the code for Argo. It
seems to display the characters "MP" by default when there are no other
signals in the band. Either that, or it's simply the abbreviation for
"molto potente."
