Hi Les,
For a small stand-alone QRSS beacon keyer I would recommend
a small keyer called the CWKtiny. It comes already assembled on a
small circuit board not much bigger than about 2 square inches
and draws around 40-50ma @ 7-15 VDC.
It can be programmed with a standard PC keyboard and supports a
good assortment of modes like QRSS up to QRSS120,
DFCW, Triangle mode, simple Hell modes, etc.
It is made and sold in Europe. The price is reasonable
at 39 Euros plus shipping. Mine arrived in less than 2 weeks time.
It is sold through WiMo in Germany I believe. Follow the links
to WiMo in English.
I would recommend downloading the manual so you can see
what its capabilities are.

I'm trying to get a Medfer beacon on the air. Wondering what people are
using these days to transmit QRSS signals? I recall some people used
PC's a few years ago, but don't recall the software. Others used a K1EL
keyer?
Any advice appreciated.
