[Lowfer] The Haunted HiFER

Out at the farm this afternoon, I saw... the ghost of NC !

Tuned it in with very little difficulty, as is normally the case, but this
time I had Argo set with 13555.562 nearer the top of the Argo display than
usual. To my astonishment, I realized I was seeing it two places. An
eerie, ghostly copy of the squarewave was visible at 13555.502!

I puzzled over that a while, trying various minor adjustments of RF level,
Argo's sensitivity control, and IF bandwidth, trying to obtain a clue.
Finally, the frequency separation of the two signals sunk in on me. You
don't suppose....

So, I cranked Argo up in frequency and voila!--an eerie, ghostly squarewave
at 13555.622 kHz as well. "Hmm," I said to myself; or perhaps, "hum." A
bit of 60 Hz ripple sneaking through the regulator? Took a snapsot of the
upper sideband, and then went back down and did the same for the lower one.
Wish I'd kept the capture of the first instance of the lower sideband,
because it was clearer than the one attached. (The receiver was still
warming up at that time, and could have been as much a couple of Hertz off
at 22 meters right then.)
