Garry, I would encourage you to leave the HiFER on into the late night 
hours.  I get much better propagation from the east and northeast from late 
afternoon until nearly midnight.  My best copy of NC and MP last night was 
between 9:30 and 10:00 PM.

The near realtime MUF map that is linked from the LWCA solar page regularly 
shows a northward bunching of upper HF contours along and a couple of hours 
either side of the nighttime terminator (especially when flux is below 100, 
as it has been most of this year), and that seems to be confirmed by the 
kind of HiFER reception I typically get.
