[Lowfer] Good pre-sunrise conditions to the west of IL

Out here in Kansas, I went out to the field before daybreak, mainly to see
if my traditional pre-sunrise fade from the northeast also affects the Part
5 stations on 600m. It usually begins 90 minutes before the sun appears and
lasts for about 90 minutes after, and I began listening this morning just
over an hour prior to sunrise. Sure enough, nobody was visible on LF or HF
at all, and it didn't appear as if anyone was on MF at first glance. When I
checked back a little later, though, WD2XSH/7 was booming in! The signal
stayed with me until about 15 minutes before the sun appeared, then took a
big dip in level. I could no longer hear the conventional speed CW ID at
all, and had to raise the Argo sensitivity to see the QRSS solidly.

The signal strength partially returned about half an hour later. But by
then the temperature was seriously rising, too, and a hawk was expressing
her irritation at my being parked in the middle of her morning hunting
ground; so I returned to town. Everybody gets irritable in this kind of
heat, I guess.
