: at approximately 4 hour intervals.  The PLC signal even trips two of my
: UPS units.

Reason enough to inform them to remove it ASAP.  It interferes with 
international and aeronautical broadcasts and causes shutdowns to 
potentially life saving devices.

Along such lines, I remember in the 80's, there was a house on some sort of 
uninterruptible power supply.  One day, it malfunctioned during a power 
outage.  I don't recall what the supply was for or who lived in the house, I 
was in grammar school at the time, but it was important enough that a 
hydrogen powered turbine was placed in a stainless steel box on a utility 
pole, a bank of hydrogen tanks chained to the pole fed it, eventually these 
were moved up onto the pole as well.  A dedicated power line ran up the 
street.

A very odd installation for a middle-class neighborhood of bungalows.
