Ahh Haah: Thanks Jay, I understand what you are saying, and the reason
is that recent experiments with Spectrum Lab, I turned the Visual AGC
" ON " to see what happened, and I did !! Any QRN that would work the
radios AGC, or raise the volume level going into the sound card would
make the display darken, and a " seeable " signal would disappear.
Even increasing the volume level from the radio into the sound card
had the same effect. As the volume went up; the Visual AGC would
kick in, and the waterfall display would darken, and signal lines
would disappear.. I'm accustomed to that happening with QRSS signals,
but it took this incident to relate it to WSPR also.. Now common sense
tells me; It will be the same with any mode.. Noise, over rides signal..
Still in the daytime absorption, so I'm thinking the signals should
start to come back up at about 5 pm ( 22:00 UTC ), barring static..
