I set up XKO to join in but noticed very erratic antenna tuning with
more than a few watts. I noticed while running on 461.5 khz a few days
ago the tuning had changed. Initially I though the problem was most
likely a bad top hat wire connection which sure wouldn't be an easy
fix. So I went out to do a visual assessment from ground level. It
didn't take long to notice the end of one top hat wire was laying across
an oak tree. I guess that didn't hurt my 461 signal because of all the
reports while running only ten watts. But for 137 khz I assume the
higher voltage on the wire is severely detuning the antenna. The good
news is I think the fix will be fairly easy. That remains to be seen.
For now I have WSPR running at 5 milliwatts. Of course I expect no
reports :)
