[Lowfer] 2200 meter reception on my lowFER vertical

After raising the current 40 foot top loaded vertical, I found that
it receives superbly on 1750 meters. Much better than my HF dipoles
even when loaded for resonance. I had tried the vertical on 2200
meters and had to add Inductance to bring the signal level up.
I also tried hanging an air variable from the bottom of the matching
coil to ground and could peak the signals more. A short time back,
the thought crossed my mind to hang the variable cap. from the
antenna wire to ground. This put the variable between the inside
matching coil, and the elevated loading coil. When I gave the
capacitor shaft a twist, the noise floor sharply peaked, and was
about 3 to 4 S-units higher than I had ever saw it on 2200 meters.
That nice little " T " network setup has made a world of difference
in receive capabilities for me on 2200 meters.. Still not able to
pull out any TA stations, but the urge to keep trying is still there.
