If it's any consolation I'm having the same issue hearing you and John, 
see my grabber as I usually delay start up of TX tests until atleast 
0500-0600UTC...  I can see traces of you but the QRN knocks you out.

Hopefully things will get better as the season advances.

2KW tests here revealed heating on most tuner components so until I 
improve cooling in there 1.1KW seems to be the beacon setting where 
things run nice and cool.  2KW is truly for pushing things up the extra 
couple of dB to get the QSO...
