[Lowfer] Beverages on LF?

Hi Jay, no I havent seen any directional plots. I guess they are pretty
difficult to achieve unless you have a helicopter :-)) So I always like to
trigger ideas out of those that have been able to try them. Not everyone has
the room (even if the capacity :-)) ) to indulge in Beverages.
I always think that, like any length of wire used to a receiving antenna,
there can often be several different ways they actually operate, but all
will pick up a signal. I have seen descriptions of layouts described a
Beverages which probably were not....but worked as effective signal
collectors all the same. Similarly I have been worried by the comment in
the QST reprint from Harold himself I think, that there seemed to be an
optimum length. I cant remember now but I think it was around 1.5
wavelengths. That didnt seem right somehow. Unless some other factor was
coming into play, maybe multipath.
Just a "muse" ...seeking information and discussion and an opportunity to
renew contact with old friends....what amateur radio is about :-))
