Hi Dex,
I have the AEA VIA-HF, the Autek RF-1 and an MFJ-249.
The MFJ and Autek don't really have low frequency coverage however.
Autek does make an VA-1 good to 500kHz and Dale KW1I has one that he uses on 500kHz.
The AEA VIA-HF does work well down as far as 137kHz at least.
I have a problem with strong local AM BC stations throwing the reading of any analyzer off though.
It helps a lot to use either a high-pass or low-pass filter to attenuate MW signals before making a measurement.
The instrument I use most however is a Telepost LP-100A DIGITAL VECTOR WATTMETER:

It measures complex impedance NOT Just SWR!!!
No problems with MW signals mucking up the readings!
I have a custom coupler for the LP-100A that is good down to 100kHz and will handle up to 6kW in the HF range, I have a second coupler for the higher freqs.
The best part is that is calibrated by Larry to NIST traceable accuracy! (Not likely to get that from an MFJ!)

I'm considering buying an antenna analyzer and retiring my Knight Kit
RFZ bridge and Eldico AT-1 Antennascope to my antique test instrument
museum. I would like to have one with a range of .1 to 500 MHz but it
looks like I will have to comprised on the high end range but don't want
to on the low end. I found a list of devices available on eHam which
has been helpful:

Who on this group has what analyzer and what are your comments about it?
