Better choice is the chip Lawrence used in his exciter. I think it is a
tda7052. It will put out the 1 watt at 185khz. Class A, B or AB is
easily achived with common transistors. good example is Asshar Farhans
JBOT amp( just a bunch of transistors). Google jbot and you should find
it . With proper torroids should be able to work 1 to 5 watts at 185khz.

We also need to bear in mind that Andy was asking about Part 15 operation, 
which is limited to 1 watt DC INPUT.  The efficiency of Classes A and AB are 
pretty poor, and B is barely adequate.
