What would really be great is if as many of us as possible could make it .
I used to attend it regularly when it was in Fort Smith and then Joplin .
Branson , is a better location , since there is no shortage of things to
keep family members of any age entertained .
It is pretty centrally located too geographically .
Since we don't have any type of either formal or even informal gathering of
those of us that are listeners , beacon operators , or builders and
experimenters . The theme fits very well with Part 15 operations .
I would love to meet ALL you in person , that I only know from reading the
list or the LOWDOWN and the www.lwca.org web page .
We really do need a yearly get together at some time and place , that is
centrally located .
They might even allow us to have a "building session" so this would even
benefit , people that are brand new to radio and electronics , as well as
involve the longtime experimenters , to act as "Elmers" for a building
session .
Just off of the top of my head , if we could have a kit for them to build ,
that could be built is say about an hours time , we could get them a piece
of basic gear to say get them started listening .
Maybe a receive converter , similar to Lyle's design , that Jackson Harbor
Press , sells a copy of . I don't know much about kitting things , but I am
sure we have people that are familiar with it . It would be nice to know
just how cheaply we could offer such a kit for a building session . We might
be able to get some people willing to donate parts for such a project .
Just some of my loose marbles rolling around in my head and doing some
rambling .
Comments , ideas , guidance ,suggestions , would be more than welcome .
