Thanks for the information Curt . The Epson oscillator that I have in one of 
my beacons is 13.559 and I also have the
K-ID2 for QRSS3 and 10 WPM . I am using a 5 element filter on it .

I have a crystal controlled one here too , that I don't remember the 
frequency of right off hand , but it was a standard computer crystal 
frequency that I designed , basically just an oscillator and a filter to 
stay within the rules . Was going to see which was the easiest to live with 
.

I have 30 acres about 20 miles from me , and have considered solar powering 
all 3 of my beacons at that location , that is virtually in the middle of 
nowhere .They will be in Kansas , about a mile north of the Oklahoma state 
line .

Lots of farm land all around it . Just probably 6 or 7 miles from John D.'s 
farm .

That would let me do more listening from this location , but might be 
difficult to service in the winter or heavy rains .
